Heather of Hools

Heather of Hools, Ridden 7 yr old mare sold to Yorkshire

Email received from new owners;

We went to our first show with Heather of Hools at the weekend at Yorkshire Shetlands Spring Show, 22nd April 2012. After so many days of heavy showers and hail stone, we were lucky to have a shower free day all but a little wet under foot. Our Judges Mr David Hodge and Mr Julian Walters – owners of Halstock and Sharptor Shetland Studs, had the long drive up from Devon to a large turnout of 110 ponies; they did a brilliant job of placing the ponies in the ridden, child handlers and the in-hand classes. Heather was great, ridden by Freddie age 6 yrs, received a rosette so was highly delighted. My other son took her in the young handler, and came 4th, he was thrilled’

‘Heather is settling well and has done everything we have asked of her. She is a lovely little mare and we are delighted with her. Nothing seems to faze her, we live on a very busy road with a coast liner double decker buses going past every hour and some rides we have to go on this road for a while to get to anywhere and she doesn’t flinch at them. The first day we took her out for a long ride we had two buses from behind and one coming towards us at the same time and I have to say I held my breath! I don’t think she even noticed them nor did Freddie who never stops talking!’
